Antalya is my favorite region in Turkey. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Even though Antalya is one of the biggest and most popular tourist destinations in the world, you will never feel overwhelmed by huge crowds of hasty tourists while in Antalya. 

Antalya is one of the most vibrant Mediterranean regions around the globe. It is an international tourism and shopping hub. Antalya is a jewel of Turkey.

The region is defined by crystally clear beaches, green forests, blue lagoons, and an excellent climate. Antalya is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Antalya has it all. Whether you are looking for gorgeous beaches or ancient and historical places, the region will give you whatever you want. 

As a person who has traveled to Turkey several times, I tell you that Antalya is the most welcoming and enjoyable place in the country. I love Antalya. This is the reason why I am organizing the tour to Antalya – Jewel of the Meditteranean.

TOUR ITINERARY

While organizing the itinerary for the Antalya tour, my goal was to include all types of historical, cultural, modern, and natural attractions of the region in the program. This universal itinerary will appeal to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ANTALYA

Antalya City

Upon your arrival in Amman, a private driver will pick you up and take you to your comfortable hotel in the center of Antalya. In the second half of the day, we will visit some of the most famous and popular places in the city such as: Kaleici (The Old City), Muratpasa district near Markantalya, Konyaalti beach, and have a friendly dinner all together in one of the best restaurants of Antalya. 

DAY 2: ANTALYA MUSEUM AND TERMESSOS

Termessos in Antalya

Antalya Museum is one of the most important museums in the world. 13 display halls with exhibits from the Paleolithic Age to Ottoman times. You will see ancient statues, Roman obelisks, and many other historic monuments. 

After visiting Antalya Museum, we will drive 17 kilometers to the northwest of Antalya and visit Termessos, which is one of the most impressive Roman theaters in the world. Termessos was built on a natural platform on top of Güllük Dağı, at a height of 1,665 meters. 

The stunning ancient city of Termessos is concealed by pine forests. Concealed by pine forests on a high hill, Termessos requires some physical effort to reach it. We will hike to the top of the ancient Roman theater and enjoy an absolutely unforgettable view.

DAY 3: PHASELIS AND OLYMPOS

In the morning, we will drive towards Kemer and visit the ancient city of Phaselis. We will walk on the ruins of the ancient city. After visiting the ancient Roman theater in the center of Phaselis, we will make our way to the neighboring city Olympos.

Olympos will impress you with its grandeur and breadth. You will enjoy a view of a vivacious lake on the left side of the ancient city. At the end of the city, you will see a beautiful bay. We will swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea and make a picnic on its shore. 

In a short distance from the bay of Olympos, there is Chimaera/Yanartas, the never stopping fire. It is one of the wonders of nature. We will visit the place and explore the site. 

Our group will stay in Olympos until the time the ancient city closes. You will be lodged in beautiful hotels on the territory of Olympos. 

DAY 4: ADRASAN BEACH AND MYRA

After a good Turkish breakfast, we will drive to Adrasan beach which is a gem of Antalya. I love the beach and I believe you will enjoy it too. After swimming in the picturesque Mediterranean Sea and resting on the beach of Adrasan, we will drive to Demre. 

In Demre, we will visit Myra which is one of the best ancient places in Antalya. Cave carvings in Myra remind me of Petra in Jordan. Myra also contains one of the most impressive Roman theaters in Antalya. 

After visiting Myra, we will spend the rest of the day in Demre. The city is very calm and not crowded. I loved the city and you will love it too. We will visit local restaurants and try different types of food. You will spend the night in one of the best hotels in Demre. 

DAY 5: XANTHOS AND PATARA

Today, we will visit the ancient city of Xanthos which is an ancient city located in the village Kınık in Kaş. Xanthos was one of the capitals of ancient Lycia. Therefore, it is important to visit and explore the city. 

After visiting Xanthos, we will visit one of the most remarkable ancient cities in Antalya. Patara is bigger than many other ancient places in Antalya. Patara features two Roman theaters. One of them is huge and very imposing. The second theater is made of white marble and is much smaller. 

After visiting Patara ancient city, we will proceed futher to the Patara beach which is the wildest and the cleanest beach in whole Turkey. We will swim in the sea, make a delicious picnic, and spend the rest of the day in Patara. You will spend your night in a local hotel. 

DAY 6: LETOON AND OLUDENIZ BEACH

In the morning, we will visit another attractive ancient city in Antalya which is Letoon. Letoon also belonged to the ancient civilization of Lycia. The site is located in the village of Kumluova just 4 kilometers from Xanthos. 

After exploring Letoon, we will go to Oludeniz Beach and spend a good portion of the day swimming and having a picnic. 

In the evening, we will return back to Antalya. You will spend a night in your warm hotel until the next adventure. 

DAY 7: ALANYA CASTLE AND SIDE

Our next destination point will be the famous Alanya Castle. We will drive to Alanya to visit and explore the ancient building. 

After visiting the castle, we will drive westward to visit the ruins of Side in Manavgat. The ancient city of Side is gorgeous. You will see another grand roman theater. We will spend that night in Manavgat. 

DAY 8: ASPENDOS AND PERGE

Though I have seen dozens of ancient Roman theaters, there is certainly something very special about Aspendos. We will visit Aspendos and explore its neighboring territory.

After Aspendos, we will drive to Ak-Suu and visit Perge. The ancient city of Perge is composed Roman colonnaded streets. The city is very big and it will take the end of the day to observe its ruins. 

After exiting Perge, we will return to Konyaalti beach and have a picnic. You will spend the night in a good hotel. 

DAY 9: ANTALYA ZOO AND CABLE CAR

In the morning, we will drive to Antalya Teleferlik (Cable Car). From the cable car, you will see some of the most beautiful landscapes of the city. The cable will drive you for quite a long time and you will be able to fully enjoy the great view. 

After Teleferlik, we will visit Antalya Zoo. The Zoo is very big and we will walk there until its closing time. After that, we will return to the city center. 

DAY 10: YOU HAVE FULL FREEDOM

Today, you will realize that you have visited all the major attractions, historical and cultural landmarks of Antalya. Today, you can do whatever you want. You can go shopping in Markantalya, Antalya AVM, or in Kapali Street. You can also spend your time tasting local food in the city. It is up to you. The tour is officially completed. I will guide you through the city and show you everything you need and want.
